The objective of this study is to introduce and evaluate the "Mighty Trash," an innovative trash can designed to enhance convenience and hygiene in waste management. The Mighty Trash features a wheeled design for easy mobility, integrated baking soda compartments to absorb unpleasant odors, and a lid equipped with a sensor that can be operated using an Arduino microcontroller. The method involved designing and constructing a prototype, followed by testing its functionality and effectiveness in various environments. Key findings indicate that the Mighty Trash significantly reduces odor levels and enhances user convenience through its automatic lid mechanism. The sensor-operated lid minimizes the need for physical contact, thereby reducing the spread of germs. The mobility feature, facilitated by the wheels, makes it suitable for both household and commercial use. Future recommendations include the incorporation of solar-powered batteries to enhance sustainability and the development of a mobile app to monitor the trash can’s status remotely. Further research could also explore the use of advanced materials to improve durability and cost-effectiveness. The Mighty Trash represents a significant advancement in waste management solutions, promoting both hygiene and user convenience.
