This thesis investigates the potential of smart dustbins in enhancing waste management efficiency in Malaysia. The integration of technology into waste management systems, particularly through the use of smart dustbins, offers a promising solution to the country's waste disposal challenges. These dustbins are equipped with sensors and IoT technology to monitor waste levels, optimize collection routes, and improve resource allocation. This study evaluates the current waste management practices in Malaysia, identifies key areas for improvement, and assesses the impact of smart dustbin implementation on reducing waste overflow, increasing recycling rates, and cutting operational costs. The research concludes with recommendations for scaling up smart dustbin use and other technological innovations to create a more sustainable and efficient waste management system in Malaysia.
