The project "Pest Deterrent Robot" aims to address the challenges faced by sustainable agriculture, crucial for ensuring food security under the Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger). Pest animals pose a significant threat to crop quality and yield, impacting food production and thereby national food resources. Problem Statement, Pest animals damage crops, leading to reduced agricultural productivity and compromised food security. Traditional pest control methods often involve chemicals, which can be harmful to the environment and human health. The objective of this project is to develop an advanced robotic system that can effectively deter pest animals from agricultural fields. This system integrates infrared and ultrasonic sensors to detect and scare away pests, enhancing crop protection while reducing reliance on chemical pesticides. The methodology is the robot utilizes infrared sensors to detect approaching pests. Upon detection, servo motors rotate to deter the pests, accompanied by a buzzer to further scare them off. Additionally, ultrasonic sensors detect proximity to objects, activating servo motors and the buzzer for enhanced deterrence. LED lights are strategically placed to prevent intrusion into the fields, operated manually via buttons for added security. About novelty, unlike traditional pest control methods, this robotic system offers a non-invasive, environmentally friendly solution by utilizing sensor-based technology to detect and deter pests without harmful chemicals. Its integration of multiple sensors and automated response mechanisms represents a novel approach to sustainable agriculture. The implementation of the Pest Deterrent Robot promises several societal benefits. It enhances agricultural sustainability by promoting natural pest management, thereby improving crop yield and quality. Reduced reliance on chemical pesticides contributes to environmental preservation and safeguards human health.
