Greenhouse gas emissions from organic waste primarily result from anaerobic decomposition in landfills, producing methane. Hair waste, which is part of municipal solid waste, decomposes slowly due to its high keratin content. Given the significant daily shedding of hair by individuals and the large amounts accumulated from barbershops, proper management of hair waste is crucial to prevent environmental issues. Nitrogen-rich of hair is essential for plant growth. This study, therefore, aims to convert hair waste into a nutrient-rich fertilizer known as HAIZER. The use of HAIZER enhances soil fertility and crop yields, promoting sustainable agriculture and efficient resource utilization, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 12 ,Responsible Consumption and Production.
